Location

Camp Piankatank, perched on 90 acres above the beautiful Piankatank River, has a lot to offer visitors. Located in Hartfield, Virginia (just a few miles from the Chesapeake Bay). We have a total of 182 guest beds.

Pictures do not nearly do our property justice. It is truly beautiful and a perfect setting for small and large group retreats. Please come out and visit us. We are always happy to give tours!

Here a guest can enjoy scenic beauty and stillness not found in every-day life. The grounds offer an outdoor worship area, large recreational fields, a ropes course, a sandy beachfront, wildlife viewing, fishing and more. The very best thing is the views and access to the beautiful and serene Piankatank River!

In comparison to other facilities, our camp layout is very convenient. No big hills to walk up/down, large open spaces, and buildings close together, maximizing the time your group gets to spend together.

We pride ourselves on our ability to be flexible when working with guests. Our facilities are clean and our prices very reasonable!

Lodging and Facilities

Lodges – We have three lodges: Harrow Lodge, Gray Lodge and Ukrop Lodge.

Built in 2010, with new and clean being keywords to describe the lodges. These are identical and located centrally to each other. Each one can sleep up to 36 people, separated into two large sleeping rooms and two counselor rooms. Counselor rooms let youth group chaperones have a little more privacy and comfort. A large living room area with kitchenette (fridge and microwave only) provides space to come together for fellowship. The living room space of the lodges is often used as a meeting space for smaller groups, by easily adding a projector and chairs. Large bathrooms with instant hot water heats (no one gets a cold shower), with air conditioning and heat, make guests feel comfortable year round.

Cabins – We have four cabins. Cabins are named after countries: Taiwan, Tanzania, Kenya and Portugal.

Each cabin has a bunk room and counselor room, for a total of 16 beds in each cabin. The large porch on each cabin lets you get close to nature. A bathroom is in each cabin. These are air-conditioned and heated for year-round comfort.

Leader Lodge – This four bedroom, three bathroom “house” provides a little more privacy and comfort for your group’s leaders or speakers. Large windows and two porches give serene views of the beautiful Piankatank River. The living room space has a fireplace and a television (the only on campus with internet streaming or DVD viewing). A total of 10-11 can sleep comfortably here. Bring your K-cups to enjoy the exclusive Keurig coffee maker in this lodge.

Krowe Activity Hall – This is our main meeting area in camp used for large group meetings. Groups are invited to set this up to meet their needs. We have projector, lighting, and sound available for use at no additional charge.

Ukrop Dining Hall – Our talented food service staff serve homemade style food in our dining hall. Meals are served cafeteria style and we always make enough for seconds. This space is often also used as a meeting space for smaller groups.

At this time, Camp Piankatank is not open to hosting any weddings or wedding receptions. NO ALCOHOL is allowed on our property. Dancing is allowed ☺.

Picnics

Enjoy a poolside picnic! Volleyball, gaga-ball, soccer, basketball and a pool, make us the BEST picnic location in the county!

Pavilion Rental – $150 for a 5 hour period

Optional food service – $12/person for Hamburgers, Hot dogs and all the fix’ins for them. Choose 3 sides. Served with sweet tea, lemonade and water. Served with one dessert item.

Pool Rental is $50/hour – we provide the lifeguards. You can also add any of our activity options.

We have more availability for picnics on Sundays. We do not rent the picnic pavilion during our summer camp program, late June – mid-August.

Banquets and Parties

We want to help you have a beautiful banquet or party. AND your banquet bucks go towards supporting a non-profit that gives kids an amazing summer camp.

Guests who want table cloths, cloth napkins, glass plates, or decorations need to provide these (we can recommend to you a good rental company).

Building Rental Cost

Krowe Activity Hall $150 for a 5 hour period
Ukrop Dining Hall $150 for a 5 hour period

Our food service team would be happy to make your party a delicious meal.

A served buffet starting at $12/person, includes one meat option (chicken, pork, ham, or pasta options), two sides, rolls, salad, and dessert. Drinks are lemonade, sweet tea or water. If you want to upgrade a meat option extra costs may apply. The option of two meats served is $16/person.
